Your Litter Box and You
Jan 4th, 2006 by Rob
For many Ragdoll cat owners, the litter box is the most unpleasant aspect of owning a cat. If you’re like me, you dread cleaning the box; I dread walking into the room that has the litter box. Cleaning the cat box is an ugly job, but it doesn’t have to be a difficult one.
There are lots of new products on the market now to make the job of keeping your litter box clean easy. These products range from self-cleaning litter boxes to hooded boxes. Having a hood on your box is a great way to keep the litter and dust inside the box. The hood also allows your cat some privacy while using the litter box.
Self-cleaning litter boxes are a great idea for people with multiple cats. These products were a little buggy when the first came out; however, most companies offering them have worked the problems out of their products.
Self-cleaning litter boxes use a rake to scoop litter clumps into a receptacle for disposal. Once the receptacle is full you can dispose of it. The advantage of the self-cleaning litter box is the box will scoop itself after each use. This is ideal for cats that refuse to use a dirty box. One drawback with this type of box is your cat could be frightened by the mechanical action of the box. If this happens a dirty box will be the least of your problems.
Many cats will stop using the litter box if it isn’t kept clean. Also, if your cat box is dirty it could lead to health problems for you and your cat.

Hi there,
Did a search for Ragdolls and found your site! I have a new little Ragdoll baby and I’m just LOVING her! I never really much cared for cats until I found out about Ragdolls. I’d send you some pics but don’t know how on this site…
But what loveable little critters they are! Although our little miss.. (I have pics on my blog) being that she is only just over 3 months old.. she’s earned many nicknames.. like this morning when she thought the leaf of a plant was her toy and tore it off.. and earned herself the NEW nickname of Stinkerbell! ::laughing::
Love your site, but would like to see more pics!
