Many of the plants in your home and garden are poisonous to your Ragdoll cat. Your cat would have to eat large quantities of most toxic plants to pose a serious health risk; however, there are many common plants that can make your cat sick. It is a good idea for any Ragdoll owner to make a list of the plants in your home and determine if any are a risk to your cat. This is extremely important if you are bringing a new kitten into your home. As you will learn, your new Ragdoll kitten will chew everything in your home, including you. For this reason you need to child-proof your home prior to bringing your Ragdoll kitten home.
The list below is a basic guideline for removing poisonous plants from your home. If you have problems identifying the plants in your home try taking a clipping to your local nursery for help. If you ever suspect that your Ragdoll cat has eaten a poisonous plant contact your veterinarian immediately or go to the nearest emergency animal clinic.
