Making Litter Boxes More Comfortable For Your Ragdoll Cat

There are a number of steps you can take to make using the litter box more comfortable for your Ragdoll cat.

First and foremost keep the box clean. This means scooping and removing clumps at a minimum of once daily; if you have a household with multiple cats your boxes may need to be scooped several times a day. Wash the box out using soap and water once a week using a mild soap, not ammonia or ammonia based cleaners.

Try and set your litter boxes up in private areas of your house, and have one more litter box running than the number of cats living in your home. Use a premium unscented cat litter. Stay away from cat litters containing processed wood or pine. These types of litter can lead to health problems for your Ragdoll cat

Some cats may prefer a hooded litter box to one without; however, some may be intimated by the hood. Until you know your cat’s preference offer a box with both options.

Finally, keep your cat’s food as far away from the litter box as possible.
